Road Safety Week 2019: Tool Hire Recommendations

Road Safety Week 2019

Road Safety Week 2019 takes place in the UK from 18th to 24th November, which means it is an appropriate time to discuss the best tools to hire for a project involving road safety.

Organised by the road safety charity Brake, Road Safety Week is the UK’s largest road safety event and aims to inspire people to take action on the matter.

It especially aims to reach out to organisations and professionals working in road safety to boost awareness and engagement in their work.

Road Safety in the UK

Britain’s roads are some of the busiest in the world, but they are also some of the safest. Studies have shown that casualties are at an all-time low.

However, according to the Highways Term Maintenance Association (HTMA), the number of injuries amongst the UK’s 4000 road workers has significantly increased.

Due to the recent surge in traffic and roadworks, an Oxford University study has found that being a road worker is one of the most dangerous occupations in the UK.

According to the Highways Agency, between 2003 and 2008 in, 11 road workers were killed and 104 were seriously injured in England.

Therefore, if you work in this industry, it is crucially important that you follow all of the necessary steps to ensure that there are no injuries or fatalities.

One of these steps is to make sure that you are equipped with the required road safety equipment before starting the project.
